A história de Powers é situada em um mundo onde super-heróis e supervilões fazem parte do cotidiano das pessoas. Assim, Christian Walker (Sharlto Copley) e Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward, de The Following), dois detetives da homicídios, investigam casos envolvendo pessoas com superpoderes.
